Dump trailer rentals
Roofing Dumpster Rental in Broward County
For a roof tear-off, the trailer size matters less than the weight: old shingles and roof tile are heavy, so a smaller trailer is often the smart pick. Every rental includes 7 days and 1 ton, with weight beyond that billed at $120 per ton.
What's included
- Delivery and pickup of a driveway-safe dump trailer
- 7 days on site and 1 ton of disposal weight
- Overage billed by weight at $120 per ton, so you pay for what the load actually weighs
- Extra days at $50 per day if the job runs long
- Help choosing a size from photos of the roof sent to (954) 247-1399
Step 1
Send roof photos
Text a few pictures of the roof and the driveway to (954) 247-1399. Tell us whether it is shingle, tile or flat roofing.
Step 2
Pick a size for the weight
We help you weigh volume against the included 1 ton and suggest a trailer that will not overload.
Step 3
Tear off and load
Pitch debris straight into the trailer as the roof comes off. Keep nails, wrappers and underlayment in the same load.
Step 4
Pickup and weigh-out
Call for pickup when the tear-off is done. Anything over the included weight is billed per ton.

Which trailer to book
Roofing debris is dense, so the compact 15-yard or the 18-yard usually carries a tear-off without encouraging you to overfill a bigger box. Larger roofs may need a second load rather than a bigger trailer.
How heavy is a load of roofing debris?
Heavier than most people expect. The U.S. EPA's volume-to-weight conversion factors list composition (asphalt shingle) roofing at about 731 lb per cubic yard, close to broken concrete at about 860 lb. For comparison, mixed household junk is usually 250 to 300 lb per cubic yard.
That means a roofing load reaches the included 1 ton after only a few cubic yards. You can keep going, since overage is simply billed at $120 per ton, but it is worth knowing before you book so the final bill holds no surprises.
In general, clay and concrete roof tile is heavier than shingles, and wet underlayment adds weight too. If the weather turns, tarp the load in the trailer between work days.
One practical way to plan: ask your roofer how many days the tear-off will take and whether the old roof is one layer or several. Multiple layers mean more debris per square foot of roof, and that is the detail that most often changes which trailer we suggest.
Weight figures above are EPA averages for estimating, not a guarantee of what your load will weigh at the scale.
What can go in a roofing dumpster?
Shingles, tile, underlayment, felt, flashing, drip edge, rotted decking and the nails and packaging that come with a tear-off all belong in the trailer.
Keep these out: paint and paint cans, propane tanks, tires, batteries, ammunition, hazardous materials and any appliance holding refrigerant, such as an old rooftop AC unit. If they turn up in the load, it is returned to your site with a $100 surcharge. Roof coatings and sealant buckets should be checked against the what we take list before they go in.
Permits for re-roofing are between you, your roofer and your city. Check with your city's building department for what your job requires.
A few loading habits help on roofing jobs. Park the trailer as close to the drip line as the driveway allows so the crew can drop debris rather than carry it. Spread shingles evenly instead of piling them at one end, which keeps the load balanced for the haul. Sweep the driveway for loose nails before pickup, since a magnet sweep takes minutes and saves tires.
If the roof replacement also includes gutters, soffit or fascia, that material can go in the same trailer.
FAQ
Roofing Dumpster Rental: common questions
What size dumpster do I need for a roof?
Because roofing is heavy, we usually suggest the 15-yard or 18-yard trailer. Send photos of the roof to (954) 247-1399 and tell us the material, and we will recommend a size.
How much weight is included with a roofing dumpster?
Every rental includes 1 ton. Anything over that is billed at $120 per ton.
Can I put roof tile in the trailer?
Yes. Tile is accepted, but it is dense, so expect to go over the included weight on most tile tear-offs.
Can the old rooftop AC unit go in with the shingles?
No. Appliances that contain refrigerant are not accepted in our dumpsters, and a load containing one is returned with a $100 surcharge.
How long can I keep a trailer for a roofing job?
The rental includes 7 days. If rain delays the job, extra days are $50 each.
