It depends on how far your remodel goes. Some projects just swap cabinets and counters; others take the room down to the studs and subfloor. We agree on the scope before starting, so the room is left exactly where your contractor needs it.
Kitchens
- Upper and lower cabinets, pantry units and islands
- Countertops, including laminate, solid surface and stone
- Tile backsplashes and tile or other flooring
- Drywall behind cabinets when walls are being opened
Bathrooms
- Tubs, shower pans and surrounds, and glass enclosures
- Vanities, mirrors, medicine cabinets and toilets
- Wall and floor tile, including mortar beds where needed
- Drywall or backer board in the agreed areas
If you want to keep or donate cabinets, a vanity or fixtures, tell us when you send photos. We'll remove them carefully instead of breaking them down.
Countertops are worth a note. Laminate comes off in pieces, but stone and solid-surface tops are heavy and awkward, and they need to be removed carefully when the cabinets below are staying. Tell us what your counters are made of when you send photos.
